Peru's Joaquin Prats was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Arcadio Buendia in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Eliseo Mina managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseo Mina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arcadio Buendia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Julian Murillo took a quick shot and it went in 3-3 without a chance for Arcadio Buendia to make any attempt to save it. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Joaquin Prats kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Ziya Onur Ulutan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 89th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rolando Noboa. Peru's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Arcadio Buendia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Gallo, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. With a little luck, Alzaga FC's Arcadio Buendia got control of the ball when Antonio Tenorio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Despite being the better team, Peru failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
