Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Horaţiu Zotincă came free with the goalkeeper in the 8th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Julio Vera could save by the left post. Avram Prunaru hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Andrei Pavel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 10th minute of the match. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Fanaticii's goalkeeper Andrei Pavel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Fanaticii's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian Jitaru in the 25th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 26th minute of play forced FC Fanaticii's goalkeeper Andrei Pavel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The FC Fanaticii fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andrei Pavel should have stopped the shot. 33 minutes into the match, FC Fanaticii's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Andrei Pavel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrei Pavel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Luis Andino got a free kick in the 38th minute. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrei Pavel having to interfere. Moise Corduneanu kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Adrian Jitaru made the kick off in the second half. Francisc Ciocâlteu hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Andrei Pavel made a huge save. In the 64th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. 66 minutes into the match, FC Fanaticii's goalkeeper Andrei Pavel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Andrei Pavel made a huge save. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Andrei Pavel firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 73rd minute, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Andrei Pavel. Andrei Pavel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Andrei Pavel made a huge save. Daniel Zorita's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 87thth minute, Andrei Pavel skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 87thth minute got Andrei Pavel to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Andrei Pavel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 89th minute.
