After a defensive mix-up in AC Augustville's zone, Agustín Saelices stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Genílson Sousa came out of the goal and Agustín Saelices tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of AC Augustville booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genílson Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Genílson Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genílson Sousa having to interfere. The AC Augustville fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Genílson Sousa should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lech Banan to strike the kick off in the second half. Romário Del Piero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Genílson Sousa made a huge save. 66 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of AC Augustville's Genílson Sousa. Genílson Sousa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. AC Augustville's Mateus Saraiva was substituted for Lech Banan. Mateus Saraiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, AC Augustville's Mateus Saraiva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. AC Augustville's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Daniel Zorita 76 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-3. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mateus Saraiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Camilo Gisbert during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 84 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mateus Saraiva in the 85th minute of play. Camilo Gisbert got a throw-in 87 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Luis Andino. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than AC Augustville throughout the match.
