Ali Cafer Konuralp was left in no man's land by his defense there! 36 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Tomás Romo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the RED DEVIL defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ali Cafer Konuralp. The RED DEVIL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ali Cafer Konuralp should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, RED DEVIL's Blas Semeno got a free kick in the 41st minute. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernando Barreiros in the 42nd minute. The RED DEVIL players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 1-2.

The wind increased when Andrei Ivan made the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, Fernando Barreiros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The RED DEVIL fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Daniel Zorita kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 54thth minute. Though ot was a great shot RED DEVIL's keeper Ali Cafer Konuralp was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. In the 55th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serafino Flores in the 83rd minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, RED DEVIL's goalkeeper Ali Cafer Konuralp had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agustín Saelices. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sancho in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ali Cafer Konuralp prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 88th minute, Daniel Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Ali Cafer Konuralp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 95 played minutes RED DEVIL got a freekick which was hit by Haroldo Baldovino. In the 95th minute, Daniel Zorita fired a really elegant long shot, but Ali Cafer Konuralp threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
