TECRÜBE SK's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 78th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ahmet Danış Çiftçi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Petre Bâru fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored TECRÜBE SK's protests and gave Petre Bâru a yellow card for diving instead. Ahmet Danış Çiftçi made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Agustín Saelices sent off a good shot on target. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than TECRÜBE SK throughout the match.
