Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Refik Ülgü in the 3rd minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Refik Ülgü came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 16th minute of play forced FC CSKA's goalkeeper Georgi Velinov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julian Murillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Georgi Velinov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Milagros Fraga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Georgi Velinov. FC CSKA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Milagros Fraga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Ahmet Refik Ülgü's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Georgi Velinov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luz Tejedor in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Georgi Velinov saved FC CSKA from getting behind. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Refik Ülgü in the 37th minute of play. Tanel Kiik made in the 39th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Luz Tejedor. Luz Tejedor charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luz Tejedor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 46 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Luz Tejedor.

Georgi Velinov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 53rd match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquin Prats to maneuver through the defense. FC CSKA's Ruslan Dzhalev was substituted for Ahmet Refik Ülgü. The throw-in from Tanel Kiik in the 58th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. The audience was convinced that Arnulfo Roderigo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rolando Noboa was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. In the 63rd minute FC CSKA were awarded a corner. Georgi Dimitrov went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on FC CSKA's corner Georgi Dimitrov fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rolando Noboa quite easily take care of the ball.
