Daniel Zorita was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 45th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 46th minute of play forced FC Büdlich-Breit's goalkeeper Bastian Hoeber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

51 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Schreiner came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Bastian Hoeber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Patrick Schreiner managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Büdlich-Breit's supporters rose to their feet, but Patrick Schreiner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FC Büdlich-Breit's Bastian Hoeber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 70th minute of play.
