With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerónimo Furtado in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mao Zhen Hong saved Academia Monte Gordo from getting behind. Jakub Szczepanowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mao Zhen Hong having to interfere. Academia Monte Gordo's Mao Zhen Hong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerónimo Furtado in the 13th minute of play. The União Sport Clube Paredes fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when União Sport Clube Paredes's Bernardo lago looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Boruc Brysz during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 24 played minutes Academia Monte Gordo got a freekick which was hit by Boruc Brysz. Edwin van der Sar came out of the goal and Fabrício Lustosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. União Sport Clube Paredes's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alexandre Santana in the 39th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Jerónimo Furtado heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Edwin van der Sar made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Fabrício Lustosa sent off a good shot on target. Bernardo lago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Academia Monte Gordo made a substitution. Fryderyk Grucza replaced Fabrício Lustosa. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fryderyk Grucza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fryderyk Grucza in the 53rd minute of play forced União Sport Clube Paredes's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edwin van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fryderyk Grucza, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Edwin van der Sar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fryderyk Grucza in the 77th minute of the match. Academia Monte Gordo made a substitution. Dinei Sergipano replaced Adérito Abreu. After 80 minutes Academia Monte Gordo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alexandre Santana who took care of the corner kick. The corner led União Sport Clube Paredes's Alexandre Santana to fire away a dangerous shot which Mao Zhen Hong despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Mao Zhen Hong stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jakub Szczepanowski's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Academia Monte Gordo's Fryderyk Grucza got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edwin van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fryderyk Grucza, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Academia Monte Gordo's Fryderyk Grucza got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kartal Kartalov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edwin van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fryderyk Grucza in the 95th minute of play. In the 97th minute Jerónimo Furtado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mao Zhen Hong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 98 minutes into the match, União Sport Clube Paredes's Jakub Szczepanowski sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mao Zhen Hong narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
