Frasier Huber started the match with the kick off. 8 minutes into the match, Frasier Huber had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alvaro Rotili. A.S. Udinese's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Frasier Huber was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Alexander Bottone struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Igor Brandenberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.S. Udinese. After some careless play in the SalentoUnited defense, Alexander Bottone kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Igor Brandenberg. The SalentoUnited fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Igor Brandenberg should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Alexander Bottone's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Igor Brandenberg was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. 20 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's goal looked a bit too open when Frasier Huber came free, but Alvaro Rotili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 22 minutes A.S. Udinese's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fidel Ciprella who took care of the corner kick. Octavius Gräf was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Alvaro Rotili showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frasier Huber in the 24th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's Alexander Bottone sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Igor Brandenberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, SalentoUnited's Igor Brandenberg got control of the ball when Alexander Bottone tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of A.S. Udinese booed when SalentoUnited was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrice Brechbühl didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35th minute, one of A.S. Udinese:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for A.S. Udinese. In the 38th minute there was a penalty for SalentoUnited. Frasier Huber stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alvaro Rotili. 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alessio Zoccali in the 42nd minute of play forced SalentoUnited's goalkeeper Igor Brandenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SalentoUnited's Igor Brandenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alessio Zoccali in the 46th minute of play. In the 47th match minute, A.S. Udinese was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Damiani to maneuver through the defense. A.S. Udinese made a substitution. Tom Pervik replaced Bruno Maranzano. Alvaro Rotili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fidel Ciprella in the 49th minute of play. The A.S. Udinese players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SalentoUnited were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alexander Bottone to make the kick off. Udinese's Augusto Clemente was substituted for Cristiano Paolucci. Dino Pozzoli made in the 64th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Alessio Zoccali. SalentoUnited's Ergincan Suerkan quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Dino Pozzoli, made in the 65th minute of the game. With a little luck, A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili got control of the ball when Frasier Huber tried to sneak it across the goal line. Igor Brandenberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alessio Zoccali in the 67th minute of play. SalentoUnited's Igor Brandenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ercole Fiorentino in the 70th minute of play. SalentoUnited made a substitution. Urbano Hotz replaced Frasier Huber. A.S. Udinese's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Augusto Clemente in the 73rd minute. 74 minutes into the match, SalentoUnited's Urbano Hotz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alvaro Rotili narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Octavius Gräf recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SalentoUnited's Markus Paul De La Rue was substituted for Alexis Veterini. Alvaro Rotili showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ergincan Suerkan, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Dino Pozzoli's late challenge caught a SalentoUnited's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dino Pozzoli helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, A.S. Udinese's Dino Pozzoli got a free kick in the 92nd minute. In the 94th minute, Alberigo Di Franco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The A.S. Udinese fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3.
