He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mexico reached it. 8 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Eliodor Moisescu came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emil Văcărescu in the 17th minute of the match. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, Joel Gaona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Joel Gaona struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Victor Curea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. A collision led to AC MiLaN getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Dorel Crăcană hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in AC MiLaN's zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victor Curea came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute, Silvio Jatsu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Mexico were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Silvio Jatsu was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joel Gaona got free with Victor Curea in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alberto Tafalla kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. AC MiLaN made a substitution. Basarab Avram replaced Emil Văcărescu. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Alberto Tafalla hit a great ball. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filip Vlaicu in the 78th minute of the match. Aristide Herlea's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aristide Herlea helped the player get up and apologised. After 80 played minutes AC MiLaN got a freekick which was hit by Aristide Herlea. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Victor Curea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Mexico booed when AC MiLaN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorel Crăcană didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 90th minute of play forced AC MiLaN's goalkeeper Victor Curea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victor Curea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 94th minute of play. The Mexico players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
