Wachirapong Wattanachinda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. If Dagoberto Sandoval had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Peru booed when Clube do Remo MZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustav Sanne didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Baal Grunberg tried to sneak it across the goal line.

The corner led Peru's Eliseo Mina to fire away a dangerous shot which Wachirapong Wattanachinda despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Wachirapong Wattanachinda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Gallo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clube do Remo MZ's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
