The supporters of Venezuela booed when Kelmond S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerrit Hooiveld didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Pedrão Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrão Sarmento having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Roeland van Zaanen came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Pedrão Sarmento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Kelmond S.C.'s Pedrão Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. Kelmond S.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. Tomas Illescas made a great header on Venezuela's corner, it was just that Kelmond S.C.'s Pedrão Sarmento managed to reach the ball for a save. After 24 minutes Kelmond S.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. Jonathan Ferrant had great luck who in the 28thth minute grab hold of the ball when Martien Sandstra from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Kevin Oosterveld ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Mo Yang Chao stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Mo Yang Chao tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. With splendid footwork Tomas Illescas arrived in front of goal to shoot 3-1 by the left pole in the game's 51st minute. Pedrão Sarmento made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. Tomas Illescas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 60thth minute, Pedrão Sarmento skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 72nd minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedrão Sarmento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martien Sandstra in the 87th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Sven-Oskar Byström in the 90th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Gerrit Hooiveld came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Kelmond S.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerrit Hooiveld couldn't finish the play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Kelmond S.C. had played much better football throughout.
