After 19 minutes, Marko Bohlin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CRUSADERS and the Bolivia players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marko Bohlin hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. CRUSADERS's Olov Stenström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Ferrant in the 20th minute of play. The supporters of Bolivia booed when CRUSADERS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per Löfgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Chicote's late challenge caught a CRUSADERS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Julio Chicote helped the player get up and apologised. When Eddie Vallgren came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the CRUSADERS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eddie Vallgren couldn't finish the play. After 34 minutes of play, Bolivia's Eduardo Fontirroig made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Olov Stenström was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 37 minutes, Bror Holm mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CRUSADERS and the Bolivia players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bror Holm kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Olov Stenström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mario Fernandino in the 38th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eddie Vallgren to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Per Löfgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eduardo Fontirroig in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olov Stenström saved CRUSADERS from getting behind. When Julio Chicote came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Bolivia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julio Chicote couldn't finish the play. The supporters of CRUSADERS booed when Bolivia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Tejedor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Niklas Berglund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th minute Alfonso de la Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olov Stenström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to CRUSADERS getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Henrik Bergfeldt hit a great ball. Alfonso de la Cruz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olov Stenström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Emil Berggren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camilo Freixa having to interfere. After a rather tough play, CRUSADERS's William Browald got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After having played for 83 minutes, Mario Fernandino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bolivia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mario Fernandino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 89 minutes into the match, CRUSADERS's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso de la Cruz came free, but Olov Stenström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
