In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Salmuera CP's goalkeeper Ruperto Maria, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ali Gopala Pillai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ruperto Maria made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Salmuera CP's Ruperto Maria got control of the ball when Alonso Berganza tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alonso Berganza received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ruperto Maria came out and tried to block the shot, but Alonso Berganza slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 20th minute. In the 27th minute Costin Duca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ruperto Maria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 28th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ruperto Maria narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Costin Duca to make the kick off. Peru walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
