The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rockets's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tales de Carvalho in the 16th minute. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Róbson Messias in the 17th minute of the match. Emanuel Ocampo hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. The supporters of Rockets booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milagros Cabal didn't get a good kick on the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Tales de Carvalho came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benjamin Mazza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Espinar in the 30th minute of the match. Sebastian Villa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Mazza having to interfere. When Moises Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moises Tafalla couldn't finish the play. After 41 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Carvallo. Honduras's attentive Luca Espinar managed to snatch the ball when Júlio Pires made a throw-in in the 44th minute of the game. Sebastian Villa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Honduras defense, Róbson Messias kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. The Honduras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lautaro Navarro should have stopped the shot.

After 58 played minutes Rockets got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Terra. In the 60th minute, Luca Espinar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benjamin Mazza was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Honduras's Christian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Honduras's Esteban Carvallo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Júlio Pires in the 68 minute of the game. 70 minutes into the match, Christian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benjamin Mazza. Rockets's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Christian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 76thth minute of the game Róbson Messias who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Honduras's Lautaro Navarro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Sebastian Villa came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Villa couldn't finish the play. In the 80th minute, Toninho Terra ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lautaro Navarro was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The audience was convinced that Luca Espinar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benjamin Mazza was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 87th minute of play forced Rockets's goalkeeper Benjamin Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luca Espinar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
