In the 21st play minute Harold Combettes came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Marco Day. 1-1. After 43 minutes of play, USA's Cassius Byrne made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. After 56 minutes of play, USA's Monty Rogers made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marco Day came out of the goal and Harold Combettes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Noisiel made a substitution. Yaser Jadue's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Day read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Sam Campbell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Karlheinz Ludecke made a huge save. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mustapha Debray in the 91st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Yaser Jadue's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marco Day was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. USA's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
