Honduras's Luca Espinar quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Júlio Pires, made in the 3rd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbson Messias in the 6th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Milagros Cabal hit a great ball. Benjamin Mazza didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 13th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Toninho Terra kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. The Honduras fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Honduras's Sebastian Villa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 25th minute, Sebastian Villa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lautaro Navarro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gilvan Chaves went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 36th minute Róbson Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 40th minute of play forced Rockets's goalkeeper Benjamin Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The throw-in from Júlio Pires in the 44th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Honduras's Luca Espinar. Luca Espinar hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Róbson Messias to make the kick off. Benjamin Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 53rd minute of play. Tales de Carvalho hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Edmundo Espiga took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Benjamin Mazza. Rockets's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Christian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilvan Chaves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Rockets booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteban Carvallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmundo Espiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Honduras's Esteban Carvallo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Júlio Pires in the 80 minute of the game. After having played for 84 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benjamin Mazza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sebastian Villa went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score.
