Olavo Henriques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 20th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, İskender Baki Sabi reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rolando Noboa. The goal made the score 1-0. If Fernandinho Rivera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. İskender Baki Sabi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 43 minutes into the match, Racing Club's goal looked a bit too open when Luz Tejedor came free, but Olavo Henriques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from İskender Baki Sabi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. Racing Club made a substitution. Geronimo Salomone replaced İskender Baki Sabi. Racing Club made a substitution. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geronimo Salomone in the 81st minute of the match. Julian Murillo hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Mehmet Arif Evvel made a throw-in in the 84th minute of the game. After 89 minutes, Geronimo Salomone made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Peru's Rolando Noboa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Peru's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
