Alonso Berganza made a great header on Peru's corner, it was just that Squadra de Pippe's Fan Xi Hong managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 6th minute Lukasz Rukszcz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Squadra de Pippe's Fan Xi Hong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 9th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Squadra de Pippe's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Fan Xi Hong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicu Ichimescu made in the 11th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Alonso Berganza. Fan Xi Hong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 17th minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Squadra de Pippe's Lukasz Rukszcz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fan Xi Hong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julian Murillo scored 0-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fan Xi Hong, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 32 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Lukasz Rukszcz came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 39th minute of play forced Squadra de Pippe's goalkeeper Fan Xi Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after Squadra de Pippe's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. After a rather tough play, Peru's Milagros Fraga got a free kick in the 41st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 43rd minute of play forced Squadra de Pippe's goalkeeper Fan Xi Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Peru booed when Squadra de Pippe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicu Ichimescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Eliseo Mina came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseo Mina couldn't finish the play. After the first half Peru were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 61 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Filippo Massa came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute, Filippo Massa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rolando Noboa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. A collision led to Squadra de Pippe getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Valérien Derm hit a great ball. In the 72nd minute of the match Luz Tejedor shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fan Xi Hong showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filippo Massa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Squadra de Pippe's Fan Xi Hong got control of the ball when Luz Tejedor tried to sneak it across the goal line. Filippo Massa might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rolando Noboa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Filippo Massa ran back to his position shaking his head. Filippo Massa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Emmanuel Reyes hit a great ball. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Fan Xi Hong made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Rafael Gallo sent off a good shot on target. In the 90th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Squadra de Pippe's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eliseo Mina ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Peru's Alonso Berganza to fire away a dangerous shot which Fan Xi Hong despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Rafael Gallo could shoot a difficult shot in the 93rd minute, which Fan Xi Hong however easily saved by the left post.
