Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Andrea Pirlo in the 67 minute of the game. If Moises Gayoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peru's Milagros Fraga suffered a sprained foot after 70 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Demy Ottens charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Demy Ottens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Peru booed when Los Hijos de Doña Beija was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peru were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Los Hijos de Doña Beija's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Joaquin Prats fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Higinio Aguilera quite easily take care of the ball. In the 79th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Emmanuel Reyes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Higinio Aguilera quite easily take care of the ball. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adan Inge in the 97th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Los Hijos de Doña Beija had won after a very even match.
