Dean Floyd could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dean Floyd in the 9th minute of the match. In the 11th minute John Shelby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 13 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Tafalla. Santa Tecla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 19th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 20th minute of play forced FC St. Pauli Andorra's goalkeeper Santa Tecla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the game, Mexico's Joel Gaona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Santa Tecla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 26 minutes in the game Michael Corleone did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Dean Floyd. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dean Floyd got free with Dante Lacasa in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Santa Tecla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 30th minute of play. 31 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC St. Pauli Andorra's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Luca Rouco managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Santa Tecla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 35th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Gaona in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Santa Tecla saved FC St. Pauli Andorra from getting behind. 40 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Michael Corleone. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 43 minutes into the game, Alberto Tafalla was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mexico's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC St. Pauli Andorra the free kick. After 43 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Tafalla. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Mancebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Santa Tecla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

FC St. Pauli Andorra's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joan Laporte in the 84th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Dean Floyd heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Santa Tecla made a huge save. Santa Tecla didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 91st minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. In the 95th match minute, FC St. Pauli Andorra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johnnie Lister to maneuver through the defense. Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
