When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Inocencio Valente put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Volvimos mejores's Baraquiel Labarra got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Samuel Asteri made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 93rd minute, Felix Montenegro made a precise shot to the right of Samuel Asteri. Volvimos mejores's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
