The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rolando Noboa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 39 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Noisiel's Karlheinz Ludecke. Karlheinz Ludecke was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Karlheinz Ludecke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Sokol Dungarov charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sokol Dungarov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Noisiel getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Sokol Dungarov hit a great ball. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yaser Jadue in the 96th minute of the match. Peru were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
