Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zézinho Neto in the 3rd minute of play. Alexsandro Lira hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Luis Andino took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amadeu Prado. Amadeu Prado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 13thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sport Club Mavericks's Amadeu Prado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Amadeu Prado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sport Club Mavericks's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. In the 24th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Sport Club Mavericks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian Marinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 32 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Amadeu Prado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Sport Club Mavericks's Amadeu Prado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 35th minute of play. Amadeu Prado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 38th minute of the match. When Alfredão Mesquita came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Sport Club Mavericks fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfredão Mesquita couldn't finish the play. 43 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amadeu Prado. Sport Club Mavericks's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Davi Rossi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, Ecuador's Amadeu Prado threw himself towards the right post 51 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luis Andino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 52nd minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Amadeu Prado. Amadeu Prado yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davi Rossi in the 55th minute of play. With a little luck, Sport Club Mavericks's Amadeu Prado got control of the ball when Agustín Saelices tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 58th minute, Daniel Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Davi Rossi came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Sport Club Mavericks fans jumped to their feet. In the 67th minute Davi Rossi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Sport Club Mavericks defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amadeu Prado. The Sport Club Mavericks fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amadeu Prado should have stopped the shot. After 73 minutes, Mateus Novaes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sport Club Mavericks and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 73rd minute, Mateus Novaes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-9. In the 78th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Prado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Téo Guimarães kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Amadeu Prado came out and tried to block the shot, but Agustín Saelices slotted it home off the left post making it 0-10 in the 81st minute. 85 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Amadeu Prado, 0-11. Amadeu Prado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-12 was the resulting score. Ecuador played a much better game than Sport Club Mavericks and deserved their victory. The Sport Club Mavericks players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
