The wind increased when Wilfredo Segio made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Guido Bautista's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Guido Bautista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Club Almirante Brown made a substitution. Aristides Rayman replaced Wilfredo Segio. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isidoro Dolfos having to interfere. Prospero Abad kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Cristian Sancho took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Isidoro Dolfos to make any attempt to save it. Isidoro Dolfos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 70th minute. Prospero Abad charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Prospero Abad the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 71 played minutes Club Almirante Brown got a freekick which was hit by Prospero Abad. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guido Bautista in the 72nd minute of play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vladimiro Remigio kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Isidoro Dolfos made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 96th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Club Almirante Brown's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Club Almirante Brown throughout the match.
