The crowd rose to their feet as Tomas Illescas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Edgar Homeag. That made the score 1-3 in the 78 minute of play. Virgil Ştefoi kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dacian Cândea in the 87th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Edgar Homeag made a huge save. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Venezuela walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
