In the 4th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Isidoro Dolfos. Club Almirante Brown's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Club Almirante Brown's Isidoro Dolfos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 9th minute of play. Isidoro Dolfos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 19th match minute, Club Almirante Brown was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justo Paublo to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Isidoro Dolfos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 45th minute of play. The Club Almirante Brown players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilfredo Segio to make the kick off. Agustín Saelices struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Isidoro Dolfos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Guido Bautista took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Isidoro Dolfos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Club Almirante Brown's Aristides Rayman was substituted for Wilfredo Segio. Primitivo Andino got a throw-in 63 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Cristian Sancho. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 72nd minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Isidoro Dolfos was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guido Bautista in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After 82 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fabricio Lorencio who took care of the corner kick. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Almirante Brown's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Isidoro Dolfos quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Isidoro Dolfos in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In a very dangerous position, a player in Club Almirante Brown fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 91st minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 93 minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Isidoro Dolfos. In the 97th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidoro Dolfos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
