Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Abraham Alguacil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gertjan Theisens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 47th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isidoro Sarmiento to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

After 50 played minutes Mijdrecht Maffia got a freekick which was hit by Marick van Fessum. The crowd rose to their feet as Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gertjan Theisens. That made the score 0-3 after 53 minutes of play. 58 minutes into the match, Mijdrecht Maffia's goalkeeper Gertjan Theisens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abraham Alguacil. Gertjan Theisens didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Isidoro Sarmiento went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. Gertjan Theisens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 64th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Mijdrecht Maffia defense, Tomas Berganza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gertjan Theisens. The Mijdrecht Maffia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gertjan Theisens should have stopped the shot. After 75 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Miralles. Jose Carita got a throw-in 77 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Isidoro Sarmiento. In the 78th minute Isidoro Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gertjan Theisens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mijdrecht Maffia's Gertjan Theisens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Cambeiro in the 81st minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Gertjan Theisens successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 85 minutes into the match, Mijdrecht Maffia's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Gertjan Theisens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 89 played minutes Mijdrecht Maffia got a freekick which was hit by Jens Spoel. Gertjan Theisens acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 89th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Abraham Alguacil. When Laurens Hollander fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mijdrecht Maffia's protests and gave Laurens Hollander a yellow card for diving instead.
