Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. S.C. Potentia's Marian Tufescu managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Camilo Gisbert in the 9 minute of the game. In the 19th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathijs Tevreden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera was out of position in the 21 minute of play, and Roman Pitin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Roman Pitin really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mathijs Tevreden having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Erik Rensenbrink hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mathijs Tevreden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathijs Tevreden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when S.C. Potentia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Rensenbrink didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 47 minutes, Marian Tufescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.C. Potentia and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marian Tufescu kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mathijs Tevreden narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 56 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montenegro. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roman Pitin in the 63rd minute of the match. Roman Pitin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 68th minute of play forced S.C. Potentia's goalkeeper Mathijs Tevreden to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anton Rovsing in the 69th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roman Pitin in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mathijs Tevreden made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Marian Tufescu was shown his second yellow card after 97 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The S.C. Potentia players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
