The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th match minute, C.S.D Punta Ballena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabrício Cunha to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Boguslaw Dziedelonis got free with Benito Sanz in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 31st minute, Efrain Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.S.D Punta Ballena the free kick. Terciero Francos took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-0. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Terciero Francos put it in 11-0 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. C.S.D Punta Ballena fully deserved thier win.
