Klement Bryk was slow to take the kick. During this time Ajax's players had a chance to rest. Camilo Gaos tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Jonathan Ferrant. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-0 in the 18th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gigi Buffon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tonton Eren, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 24th minute Tonton Eren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Ajax's Gigi Buffon got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ajax's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! 88 minutes into the match, Ajax's Wojtek Sokol sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ajax's Remigiusz Galaska was substituted for Klement Bryk. If Tonton Eren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ajax walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
