Onur Ali Şen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Ezber Bozan FK's Domenik de Vos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 94th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nofre Amorebieta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Ezber Bozan FK fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
