After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, José Bomba managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's supporters rose to their feet, but José Bomba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Ecuador booed when F.C. Paços de Ferreira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emin Sağan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Felix Montes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Miguel Poças quite easily take care of the ball. José Bomba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Miguel Poças saved F.C. Paços de Ferreira from getting behind. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Miguel Poças tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, José Bomba managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Miguel Poças got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Bomba in the 63rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Inácio Secco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, José Bomba had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that José Bomba was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. A collision led to F.C. Paços de Ferreira getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Fabrício Travassos hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Poças having to interfere. F.C. Paços de Ferreira were furious when Bóas Pernas was red carded, 83 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in F.C. Paços de Ferreira fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 83rd minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 86 minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Miguel Poças. 93 minutes into the match, F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Fabrício Travassos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
