The supporters of Bolivia booed when Goiás Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugênio Tróia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eduardo Fontirroig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christiano Marques having to interfere. Christiano Marques came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Bolivia's Eduardo Fontirroig. But to his dismay, Eduardo Fontirroig quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of Goiás Esporte Clube booed when Bolivia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celsinho Macedo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Camilo Freixa firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Kiko Rosado fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Goiás Esporte Clube's protests and gave Kiko Rosado a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute, Kiko Rosado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Alfredo Ferrant came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Bolivia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfredo Ferrant couldn't finish the play. After 41 minutes of play, Bolivia's Mario Fernandino made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Christiano Marques was left in no man's land by his defense there! Eduardo Fontirroig might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christiano Marques. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eduardo Fontirroig ran back to his position shaking his head. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 53rd match minute, Bolivia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Ferrant to maneuver through the defense. Nicolas Cosme made in the 56th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Kiko Rosado however managed to control. After having played for 58 minutes, Eduardo Fontirroig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bolivia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo Fontirroig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mario Fernandino struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Christiano Marques didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bolivia. In the 66th minute of the game, Julio Chicote landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Goiás Esporte Clube's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Eduardo Fontirroig scored to the left of an out of position Christiano Marques, making the score, 1-3. A collision led to Goiás Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Arthur Aguiar hit a great ball. Eduardo Fontirroig might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christiano Marques. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eduardo Fontirroig ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 82nd match minute, Goiás Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolas Cosme to maneuver through the defense. Alfredo Ferrant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bolivia's Mario Fernandino got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bolivia played a much better game than Goiás Esporte Clube and deserved their victory. The Goiás Esporte Clube players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
