Hanks got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 2nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edmundo Espiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Blalock made in the 9th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Dexter Ogden immediately put the ball in play. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Milagros Cabal hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Bernie Waldron came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 12 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Luca Espinar. Edmundo Espiga scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aquilino Rameriz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcellus Rodgers hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 22nd minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aquilino Rameriz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Bernie Waldron came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Houston Fire F.C.'s Bernie Waldron got a free kick in the 29th minute. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dexter Ogden in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Dexter Ogden ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lautaro Navarro was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Aquilino Rameriz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmundo Espiga to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Scott Guerra in the 67th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Scott Guerra's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lautaro Navarro was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Scott Guerra in the 74th minute of play. The supporters of Honduras booed when Houston Fire F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Blalock didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aquilino Rameriz made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Sebastian Villa sent off a good shot on target. In the 89th minute of the match Honduras got a corner. Houston Fire F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edmundo Espiga ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a defensive mix-up in Houston Fire F.C.'s zone, Luca Espinar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aquilino Rameriz came out of the goal and Luca Espinar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 95 minutes in the game Jonathan Blalock did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Scott Guerra. After a rather tough play, Houston Fire F.C.'s Deshawn Steiner got a free kick in the 96th minute. When Deshawn Steiner fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Houston Fire F.C.'s protests and gave Deshawn Steiner a yellow card for diving instead. In the 97th minute, Deshawn Steiner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edmundo Espiga, 98 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Honduras's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
