Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Julian Murillo started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Achille Albanesi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Achille Albanesi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Achille Albanesi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. In the 9th minute, Julian Murillo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fulvio Grande got free with Rolando Noboa in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 17th minute of play forced S.S.C. NAPOLI's goalkeeper Achille Albanesi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. S.S.C. NAPOLI's Achille Albanesi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 19th minute of play. Achille Albanesi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Achille Albanesi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Achille Albanesi was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Martin Österlund got a throw-in 27 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Ciccio Bassani. 29 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Fulvio Muzzolon came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fulvio Grande in the 31st minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Achille Albanesi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. S.S.C. NAPOLI's Achille Albanesi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 43rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Fulvio Grande could shoot a difficult shot in the 46th minute, which Rolando Noboa however easily saved by the left post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fulvio Muzzolon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Fulvio Grande kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind S.S.C. NAPOLI's goalkeeper Achille Albanesi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, S.S.C. NAPOLI's Achille Albanesi got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Richard Nixon hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After 63 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Julian Murillo. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodor Cãpraru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joaquin Prats hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. S.S.C. NAPOLI's Dave Pierucci was substituted for Fulvio Muzzolon. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Joaquin Prats hit a great ball. Martin Österlund made in the 75th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Corrado Silvestre immediately put the ball in play. With an all-out effort, Peru's Achille Albanesi threw himself towards the right post 78 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eliseo Mina, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Achille Albanesi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. The throw-in from Corrado Silvestre in the 87th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Martin Österlund got a throw-in 89 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Dave Pierucci. When Dave Pierucci came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the S.S.C. NAPOLI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dave Pierucci couldn't finish the play. Martin Österlund made in the 94th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Ciccio Bassani. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
