The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Edmund Majman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gunnar Hellström struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chimpanserna FC. In the 34th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 38 minutes, Egon Rudkvist mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chimpanserna FC and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ecuador's Diego Mancebo was substituted for Luis Andino. In the 39th match minute, Chimpanserna FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egon Rudkvist to maneuver through the defense. 41 minutes into the game, Felix Montenegro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Edmund Majman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gunnar Hellström kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Ecuador's Diego Mancebo got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Mancebo in the 47th minute of play forced Chimpanserna FC's goalkeeper Edmund Majman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Chimpanserna FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

If Gunnar Hellström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 55 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Gunnar Hellström came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Edmund Majman made a huge save. In the 60th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmund Majman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But to his dismay, Gunnar Hellström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Camilo Gisbert made in the 80th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Diego Mancebo immediately put the ball in play. Chimpanserna FC's Edmund Majman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Chimpanserna FC from getting a goal against them. Edmund Majman was a little too slow when Felix Montenegro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 1-4. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gunnar Hellström in the 87th minute of play. Edmund Majman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 92nd minute. Ecuador played a much better game than Chimpanserna FC and deserved their victory. The Chimpanserna FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
