Panama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmundo Vinhas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 25th minute, Messi Dream Team's Edmundo Vinhas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Edmundo Vinhas took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Marcos Cotilla to make any attempt to save it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodolfo Bastiaro got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 36th minute of play forced Messi Dream Team's goalkeeper Elias Macerio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the game, Messi Dream Team's Ramon Amor nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcos Cotilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. In the 44th minute of the match, Edmundo Vinhas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcos Cotilla was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Ramon Amor walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Messi Dream Team had won after a very even match.
