Alfons Glad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 12th minute of the match, Robert Dubiel tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Ferrant saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 18th minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. Segmon IF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. Tomas Illescas made a great header on Venezuela's corner, it was just that Segmon IF's Alfons Glad managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 21st minute, Robert Dubiel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lars-Erik Lidström got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 27 minutes into the match, Segmon IF's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Alfons Glad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Segmon IF's Alfons Glad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Venezuela's corner Tomas Illescas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alfons Glad quite easily take care of the ball. In the 36th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfons Glad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 38 minutes into the game, Segmon IF's Robert Dubiel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Alfons Glad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 43rd minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Leif Löfdahl sent off a good shot on target. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leif Löfdahl made a kick off. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars-Erik Lidström in the 51st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Segmon IF's Joseph Österlund got a free kick in the 55th minute. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Segmon IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joseph Österlund didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Segmon IF's Alfons Glad got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Segmon IF's goalkeeper Alfons Glad had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. In the 75th minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alfons Glad having to make a save. In the 86th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th minute, Robert Dubiel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Segmon IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. With his leg Alfons Glad managed to avoid a goal in the 91stth minute, when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 92 minutes, Jose Correa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Segmon IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Segmon IF booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Segmon IF's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
