Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) In the 3rd minute Pompiliu Roşculeţ shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Hamburg's goalkeeper Volker Harm, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Volker Harm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laurențiu Cinteză. FC Hamburg's Volker Harm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 16th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Volker Harm. FC Hamburg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alberto Tafalla was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Volker Harm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 20th minute of play. Volker Harm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 24 minutes into the match, FC Hamburg's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Volker Harm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of FC Hamburg's Volker Harm. Volker Harm was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Laurențiu Cinteză fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lautaro Mancebo in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Volker Harm prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

Volker Harm made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 52nd minute. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Volker Harm threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 57 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Laurențiu Cinteză came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lautaro Mancebo came free with the goalkeeper in the 58th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Volker Harm could save by the left post. Volker Harm took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laurențiu Cinteză in the 62nd minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Volker Harm narrowly saved just below the crossbar. FC Hamburg's Batur Mahçup was substituted for Rainer Bethge. After a rather tough play, FC Hamburg's Thoralf Blohm got a free kick in the 77th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pompiliu Roşculeţ in the 81st minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laurențiu Cinteză in the 83rd minute of play. A collision led to FC Hamburg getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Ingolf Appenzeller hit a great ball. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 88th minute of play forced FC Hamburg's goalkeeper Volker Harm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Luque was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 91 minutes into the match. After 91 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mexico! Dante Lacasa had in the 94thth minute some difficulties stopping Pompiliu Roşculeţ's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Leonardo Leoz hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.
