Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dedé Correia started the match with the kick off. Dedé Correia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Garopaba F.C's Orlando da Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 5th minute of play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute, Dedé Correia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Orlando da Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Garopaba F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Orlando da Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute, Luis Andino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 31st minute, Garopaba F.C's Dedé Correia dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. After 36 minutes, Luis Andino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Garopaba F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. In the 39th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orlando da Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th match minute, Garopaba F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wambasther Özil to maneuver through the defense. Orlando da Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 43rd minute of the match. After 44 minutes Garopaba F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Garopaba F.C's Orlando da Cunha did a great save. After a defensive mix-up in Garopaba F.C's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Orlando da Cunha came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Dedé Correia came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Orlando da Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dedé Correia scored 2-1 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Garopaba F.C's Dedé Correia in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Orlando da Cunha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 71st minute. In the 74th minute Rogelio Urtungo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After taking down the ball on Garopaba F.C's corner Wambasther Özil fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. Rogelio Urtungo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. 83 minutes into the game, Garopaba F.C's Rogelio Urtungo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Keven Swift charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Keven Swift the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 87 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Garopaba F.C! Orlando da Cunha had in the 88thth minute some difficulties stopping Daniel Zorita's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 88th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Orlando da Cunha. Garopaba F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. 96 minutes in the game, Daniel Zorita fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Orlando da Cunha having to interfere. Ecuador were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Garopaba F.C to leave the ground with a draw.
