With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Roni Coryn tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bacardi FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roni Coryn to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Bacardi FC's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leo Dauwen came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bacardi FC made a substitution. Cornelis Rondas replaced Roy Voet. The Bacardi FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
