Christoffer Mårtensson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mattias Jansson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. In the 16th minute, Marcus Ekblom fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christoffer Mårtensson in the 21st minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christoffer Mårtensson, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. The audience was convinced that Christoffer Mårtensson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Los Frogos were awarded a corner in the 31th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Godholm took the corner. A very good chance. Mattias Jansson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Patricio Costa went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Patricio Costa's late challenge caught a Los Frogos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patricio Costa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Venezuela were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Christoffer Mårtensson made the kick off in the second half. When Los Frogos's Christoffer Mårtensson in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Mattias Jansson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Mieszko Lichorobiec kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. 85 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Conny Kullgren came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 86th minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haldun Bilen in the 87th minute of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haldun Bilen in the 88th minute of play. Mattias Jansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 91st minute of play. Christoffer Mårtensson might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christoffer Mårtensson ran back to his position shaking his head.
