The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Magno Aparecido in the 21st minute of play. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Magno Aparecido, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Jaime Cazalla made in the 31st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Maximiliano Escribano however managed to control. Jaime Cazalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Zeferino Diegues made a huge save. The Uruguay players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Minho FC were winning 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Magno Aparecido stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Minho FC booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Carvallo didn't get a good kick on the ball.
