Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Severino Ribeiro went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 23rd minute, MC ESPANHOL's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With a little luck, MC ESPANHOL's Teófilo Belém got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
