With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jakob Heinicke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 9 minutes into the match, Independência Futebol's goal looked a bit too open when Oliver Bierhoff came free, but Jakob Heinicke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Oliver Bierhoff had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jakob Heinicke. Independência Futebol's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Oliver Bierhoff was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Giuseppe Ortiz fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Independência Futebol's protests and gave Giuseppe Ortiz a yellow card for diving instead. Chiquinho Vander kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver Bierhoff in the 27th minute of play forced Independência Futebol's goalkeeper Jakob Heinicke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, Oliver Bierhoff got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Independência Futebol's Zé Carlos Vaz quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Malcolm Westerberg, made in the 29th minute of the game. In the 32nd minute, Daniel de Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, ADM Taquaras's Cido Cabral got a free kick in the 35th minute. Chiquinho Vander charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chiquinho Vander the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Chiquinho Vander hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. ADM Taquaras made a substitution. Denílson Tepedino replaced Oliver Bierhoff. After some careless play in the Independência Futebol defense, Denílson Tepedino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jakob Heinicke. The Independência Futebol fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jakob Heinicke should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Astor Urtun to make the kick off. Independência Futebol's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Denílson Tepedino 54 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-4. The audience was convinced that Denílson Tepedino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jakob Heinicke was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. 58 minutes into the game, Denílson Tepedino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Jakob Heinicke was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 63rd minute, Denílson Tepedino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jakob Heinicke was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. If Áron Bódog had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Denílson Tepedino took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Jakob Heinicke to make any attempt to save it. Jakob Heinicke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celsinho Perez in the 74th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Áron Bódog in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jakob Heinicke saved Independência Futebol from getting behind. Jeremias Moreno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Astor Urtun in the 85th minute of play. Cido Cabral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 92 minutes into the match, Independência Futebol's goal looked a bit too open when Áron Bódog came free, but Jakob Heinicke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. ADM Taquaras's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
