In the 3rd minute Reinard Hennes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinard Hennes in the 8th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Reinard Hennes put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz. Lautaro Puig came free with the goalkeeper in the 17th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Roland Vanden Broucke could save by the left post. 19 minutes into the match, Reinard Hennes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reinard Hennes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. The Twelve Ravens fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when Twelve Ravens's Reinard Hennes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 26th minute of the game, Osvald Lindberg landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Efrain Moruga during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 28th minute, Efrain Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lautaro Puig struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Roland Vanden Broucke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. Efrain Moruga was shown his second yellow card after 33 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Efrain Moruga hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinard Hennes, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pierre Van Hinnendael went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eliseo Noboa to strike the kick off in the second half. Axel Tasis hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinard Hennes in the 54th minute of play. 57 minutes into the game, Alan Moruga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Twelve Ravens the free kick. In the 57th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinard Hennes, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Pierre Van Hinnendael was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Twelve Ravens's Reinard Hennes got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 68th minute, Philip Blocks fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Reinard Hennes scored 0-7 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reinard Hennes in the 72nd minute. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Axel Tasis hit a great ball. In the 77th minute, Reinard Hennes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Reinard Hennes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Reinard Hennes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Twelve Ravens's Reinard Hennes. But to his dismay, Reinard Hennes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-9. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reinard Hennes in the 90th minute. The audience was convinced that Reinard Hennes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. 94 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reinard Hennes. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball. When the match was over Twelve Ravens could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Costa Rica throughout the match.
