The Bayern München FC. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ferenc Döbrögi should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Bayern München FC.'s Koppány Rácz got a free kick in the 30th minute. Abel Carballo made in the 32nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Bayern München FC.'s Pál Sárközi. In the 34th minute Attila Nemes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Axel Tasis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 40th minute, Lautaro Puig ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ferenc Döbrögi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. If Sámuel Polgár had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bayern München FC.'s Ferenc Döbrögi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 48th minute of play.

Ferenc Döbrögi came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig. But to his dismay, Lautaro Puig quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Lautaro Puig came free with the goalkeeper in the 61st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ferenc Döbrögi could save by the left post. In the 62nd minute, Eliseo Noboa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Bayern München FC. getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Tibor Pálfi hit a great ball. Bayern München FC.'s Viktor Moravecz quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Efrain Moruga, made in the 70th minute of the game. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Bayern München FC.'s Zsolt Pataki. But to his dismay, Zsolt Pataki quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. Zsolt Pataki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the game, Eliseo Noboa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bayern München FC. the free kick. 93 minutes into the match, Bayern München FC.'s goal looked a bit too open when Axel Tasis came free, but Ferenc Döbrögi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 95 minutes in the game Efrain Moruga did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Eliseo Noboa. Ferenc Döbrögi made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Axel Tasis sent off a good shot on target. When the final whistle went the supporters of Costa Rica were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Bayern München FC. side.
