Robby Woody's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Manzanares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 2nd minute of play. Robby Woody who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 4thth minute tested the skills of Pedro Manzanares when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 5 minutes into the game, La Academia's Robby Woody nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Putra Parios hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute Santino Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iwan Grocholski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iwan Grocholski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Montenegro in the 23rd minute of the match. Kevin Mastache sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iwan Grocholski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 36th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, La Academia's goal looked a bit too open when Abram Sarmiento came free, but Iwan Grocholski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. La Academia's Iwan Grocholski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 41st minute of play. Pedro Manzanares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robby Woody in the 42nd minute. Robby Woody could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Pedro Manzanares made a huge save. Iwan Grocholski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute of the match Colombia got a corner. La Academia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Axel Montenegro ran over to the corner to take the kick.

In the 52nd match minute, La Academia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Porta to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robby Woody in the 54th minute of the match. 56 minutes into the game, Axel Montenegro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Iwan Grocholski. Axel Montenegro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. The supporters of La Academia booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santino Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 65th minute, Robby Woody ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Colombia made a substitution. Ignacio Mastache replaced Abram Sarmiento. 70 minutes into the match, Pascual Carballar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Iwan Grocholski. La Academia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pascual Carballar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robby Woody, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robby Woody in the 74th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ignacio Mastache could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Iwan Grocholski made a huge save. When Robby Woody came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the La Academia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robby Woody couldn't finish the play. If Francisco Alberto Zañartu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iwan Grocholski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignacio Mastache in the 86th minute of the match. La Academia's Iwan Grocholski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save La Academia from getting a goal against them.
