Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Douglas Costa made the kick off which started today's match. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Ignacio Ioritz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tomé Soveral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 9th minute of play. BENFICA UNITED's Tomé Soveral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 12th minute of play. 13 minutes had been played when some careless play by BENFICA UNITED's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tomé Soveral quite easily take care of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Tiago Domingues kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Julio Vera. That made the score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. BENFICA UNITED's Ignacio Ioritz got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomé Soveral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute of the match. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by BENFICA UNITED's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The supporters of BENFICA UNITED booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomé Soveral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 41 played minutes BENFICA UNITED got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro Travassos. BENFICA UNITED's Tomé Soveral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignacio Ioritz in the 45th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Douglas Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. In the 61st match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiago Domingues in the 63rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Douglas Costa in the 70th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute of the match Zé Augusto Soares shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
